This doublet consists of two events with arrival directions separated within 2.5 degree that would correspond to the experimental angular uncertainty.

This event cluster includes the event with estimated energy of 210EeV: The AGASA's most energetic event.

The direction of this cluster is consistent with that of the Supergalactic Plane, the radio galaxy groups in our local neighborhood.

Mrk 359 can be a candidate of a source to radiate these particles. The distance to this galaxy is 70 Mpc, which is too far away for very energetic particles above 10^20 eV to arrive at earth due to the GZK mechanism, however.
